I am now, out of pre-written blog posts, if anyone has been paying close attention to the discrepancy between the written date and the uploaded date, you may have noticed. Now I will have to write them as I need them. Perhaps you’ll be able to notice an improvement in quality, as perhaps I will actually edit them instead of hammering them out and just sending it. I’ll have to come up with some new topics to keep the blog occupied for the near future. This post, is going to be an announcement.

I’ve got two things, or perhaps one and a half things to share. Mainly is the existence and public launch of my business Nerd-Smith Consolidated. Yes its a play on words with “word smith”. I may not be social enough to be an outstanding member of the nerd community, but I very much am a member of the community. I, like so many other people, am a part of the apparently growing nerd culture. I mean, I wrote science fictions novels, in part as an excuse to discuss theories for faster than light travel. All the services available from NSC are things I am, or was going to be doing any way. Now I am simply offering my skills, as a service for other nerds. Hence the “consolidated” part of the name.

The focus will be on 3d printing, such as miniatures for TTRPG games, nick knacks for your shelves, small tools to provide daily convenience like phone stands and clips for cable management. Or even pieces for cosplay. I also have a small CNC machine, and will be able to cut foam, metal and aluminum for the same purposes. It is not up and running yet, but it is on my to do list, I have all the hardware, I just haven’t done the software part of the set up yet. As or if any money is to be made here, the next piece of hardware I want to acquire, to expand the NSC capabilities is a Resin printer, (which will allow us to do more and better minis for table top games because the emperor protects.)

I will also be doing free lance writing and editing services, because what says nerd more than fan fiction? Let me help make your fan-fic project even better. I don’t yet, but will soon have my studio set up, and I will be able to offer on demand voice acting services as well. However, this second less tangible part of NSC is going to take a back burner position, while still available, I don’t want to cut out too much of my time for it, I won’t be working on more than one project at a time, because after years of casual speculation, I have decided on the topic for a Pod Cast. I will be covering the history of the Soviet space program. I can’t commit to a time line or a schedule on that, because I am still looking for literature on the topic. Which, the more I look, the harder it seems to find. (P.S. since writing this, I have looked and failed to find books on the topic, so that idea is off the table. Perhaps I will find another topic.)

Mainly, it’s just going to be the 3D printing services for now, but… it is all there and available to the nerd community should my services be needed. They’re not all fully set up, but I, and NSC exist in a great many places should you like to connect with me or the business electronically.
